1.    Walk AROUND the media center. Do not cut through.

2.    Talk quietly and walk—we are here to read and study.

3.    Reference materials are to be used in the media center only.

4.    You may check out a total of 3 books at a time.

5.    Books may be checked out for 2 weeks at a time.

6.    *NEW* Magazines may be checked out overnight. Only the magazines located in the non-fiction section may be checked out. Newest issues may be read in the library only.

7.    Return books directly to the circulation desk—do not leave them with a teacher or a friend.

8.    When checking out books, say your first and last name clearly.

9.    You are responsible for the books you check out. Do not lend your books to someone else—you will be responsible if someone else loses the book.

10.   If you check out a book and it is in good condition and return it with damages to the cover or the interior, you   will be required to pay for the damages.

11.   Be safe. Keep all 4 legs of the chairs on the floor.

12.  When you have finished working in the media center, push in your chair, return magazines to the rack, and throw away trash before you leave.

13.  Computers will be used to access the library catalog and for homework. You may not use the computers for games, videos or any non-approved websites.

14.   You must have a pass to come into the media center before or after school. This time will be used for quiet reading or study. Any talking or wandering away from the media center will result in a loss of privileges.

15.   You will not be permitted to check out a book if you have an overdue book.

16.    If you lose a book you must pay to replace it. If you pay for a lost book and it is found, you will receive a refund.

17.    ALL RULES, REGULATIONS, AND GUIDELINES IN THE STUDENT HANDBOOK APPLY IN THE MEDIA CENTER.

 

Consequences for Breaking Rules

First time—verbal reprimand, teacher notified

Second time—verbal reprimand, sent back to classroom

Third time—verbal reprimand, loss of library privileges for the week

 

Important Reminder—The media center is here for you. Please take pride in your media center and take care of the books.
